1% for the Planet is a global campaign in which companies commit 1% of their annual sales to environmental organizations.
Founded in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard of Patagonia and Craig Mathews of Blue Ribbon Flies, it was built on the belief that we must “give back to the planet for what we take.”
For more than 20 years, this movement has helped businesses uphold that promise. Today, thousands of members across more than 100 countries are part of the network, and total giving has surpassed $800 million.
This number allows no excuses.
Even in deficit, even without profit, 1% of total sales is unconditionally returned to the planet.
That is why, although many companies speak about the environment, only a few are true members of 1% for the Planet.
For FRA422, this was a challenge as an emerging brand.
But the very first thing we did once we made our first sales was to become a member of 1% for the Planet.
